Preparation on the slipway for the 420s. Louis and Alex hoist the main, with help from Simon
Ferdy and Ed took the youngest and had them helming as well as crewing after briefing
Shore team had to wade in, a muddy low tide, and Ella had to find her Rib for Jack. Once out on the water, it all came together and the triangle was sailed successfully. Jim noticed the wind swing South and suggested a reverse triangle, covering all points of sailing. Meanwhile, the training ILCAs amused us by racing each other sailing backwards, quite a skill!
Towards the session end, the wind did drop off, so the reward for concentrating was a chance to practice more roll tacks with controlled capsizes, watched by Jack, Jim and Simon in the Ribs.
Safely over and back up on the hull, Alex and Louis
Ferdy has Edward safe and smiling!
And Ed sees Monty is beside him.
Perfect conditions, solo Picos all coped well and now they are all more confident for what comes next.

Shore team were a little concerned to see Sam Voysey appear on the slipway to load his large plant just as dinghies were on their way in. But he was in a hurry and moved on just in time!

Let’s hope the weather is kind for our remaining sessions – and our Youth Regatta on 16 July!
Sally, for the Tuesday Team.
