After a blustery weekend, conditions remained unsettled for Tuesday training. A shore session gave us a chance to cover topics needed for the RYA log books Stg 3/4 and continue to prepare for the Youth Regatta.
Help from Ed, Elliot and Frankie meant we could take small groups through a circuit. Ed and Elliot walked our YMs through the P and triangle courses, marked on the slipway, to help with orientation on the water. They demonstrated port/starboard situations and start procedures with flags and a whistle.
Simon and Frankie held the base group with useful knots, advanced knots, the instructors’ knot and that knitting they all love!

Jack and Ella went through log books assessments with individuals. They identified a few remaining points in 3/4 we can cover next.
Jim picked up on wind directions relating to locality, changing tides, significance of on shore/off shore conditions among other points relevant to our practical sessions.
More to catch up on for log books when we get a chance. Thanks to our assistants, and well done all YMs for concentrating so well! Next Tues looks set fair for another on the water session.
