This dinghy race was formerly the last on the year’s calendar, when everyone turned out in fancy dress. Afterwards, dinghies were packed up and taken home. Our old clubhouse was packed up too, closed for the winter. Times change, Winter racing now continues through til Easter, and the importance of the Prescott Trophy is fading. A few still made the effort, with the Pirate winning the fancy dress (non-existent) prize. The Prescott Trophy was the first of the races sailed on Sunday and was won by Jerry and Simon in the Albacore. They also won the second race. Our Commodore christened his newly-aquired Albacore, crewed by Rear Commodore Dave. Race Officer was Mike Pridham, Rib helm was Dave Stubbs, James Salt covered Beach. Well done all!
