Our annual Youth Regatta is on Sat 13 July, as in the calendar. For Club members. It is partly serious racing, partly more relaxed ‘sailing a course’ for our less experienced U 18 sailors to enjoy. They have all been practising! It is run by experienced, RYA qualified, Club members who volunteer throughout the year to man our youth training groups, are DBS checked and have done Safeguarding presentations with us.
Basic plan, according to conditions on the day: 9.00 Team Briefing 9.30 – 10.30. Entries in the clubhouse. Parent/Guardian signatures required 10.15. Competitors Briefing Followed by release of dinghies from the slipway by the Beach master 10.55. First warning signal Races back to back 14.00 (approx) BBQ for competitors and families ( as pre-booked). 15.00 (approx). Awards There will be classes for Oppies, ILCAs, Fusions, Picos and others according to entries on the day. Further details on website. We ask for priority changing room use for U18s after racing.
