First Tues Youth training session and ILCAs handover

Good conditions for our first Tuesday session on 13 th April, off to an encouraging start! Cold evening air and water temperature but flat sea and favourable breeze! Great effort everyone, all smiles and thanks, dinghies put away and equipment stored.
The E/H group got into their role, all sailed well, some of you were surprised at how much you remembered, I’m told.
We’ll keep the buddies for next week but watch out for an email before then as tide and team differences to come. It was much better to get on the water earlier, maybe we’ll go for 5.30 group sign in and see if that works once schools start.
At the end of our session, Chris Turner came with the Ovington ILCAs for Josh and Tom. They’re on loan for the season, giving experience of ILCA sailing at the club with support from Chris as well as other experienced club ILCA sailors. Thanks to Chris for this inter-club initiative. And to the committee for underwriting some of the running costs. Watch out for Chris on the water in his own ILCA, joining you for a bit of coaching!
