Thank you so much for the many kind messages of sympathy and support we have received following Dad’s death yesterday. A few days ago he made it very clear to me that he didn’t want any arrangements to be miserable or sombre. That’s not how he was and not how he wanted to be remembered. So although we are obviously very upset, please don’t remember him with sadness. Remember him with a smile, at the bar, telling one of his off-colour jokes and smile with us. And of course lift a glass. It’s not so much what he would have wanted as what he definitely did want.
