Centenary Celebration Event

3rd July 2021

The Sailing Club celebrations planned for 3rd July will comprise a number of separate events as follows:

10:30 – 10:45
The Commodore, The Lord Lieutenant of Dorset and the Mayor of Lyme Regis will participate in the unveiling of a centenary commemoration plaque in the clubhouse. The unveiling will be performed by George and Carol Eyre. (The number of members allowed into the clubhouse for this part of the proceedings will be determined by the pandemic regulations and guidelines remaining in place after the Government’s announcement re 21st June).

10:45 – 11:00
The VIP party will be introduced to some of the youth members of the sailing club on the slipway.

11:00 – 13:00
There will be a Sail Past of club and guest boats in Lyme Bay just off the town beach observed by the Commodore and guests on board PJ. We would like a large representation of club members and boats of all shapes and sizes to participate in this part of the proceedings. If you have not already done so please confirm your intention to participate in the sail past to david.meehan1@yahoo.co.uk with your name and the name, type, model and length of boat.

A centenary Challenge race to Charmouth and back.
17:00 onwards
A barbeque at the clubhouse
